Two girls sitting and watching a communal dance on a public square. These folk festivals have always seemed to me like weird time machines. I step upon the hay-covered cobbled streets and get back to some medieval age with all the animals and herbalists and artisans and people dressed like ancient peasants dancing and laughing and seemingly having a great time. I’ve got to admit they sometimes make me a little envious. Then I wake up and realize it’s all just a huge masquerade… or is it?
